Watching daddy....

I took Clayton to the field to see Blake in the combine. It is so cute how he was really watching it trying to figure out what was going on.
We did get to ride in the combine with Blake...Clayton thought it was so cool. He liked playing with the turn signal. He really wanted to drive too....but Blake wouldn't let him. :-). We had to get a little daddy time in b/c the boys were working so late in the fields b/c of the crazy harvest season.

1970 called and wants their wood paneling back...

Loving his new playroom. Yes it has wood paneling....I am not about to do anything to this to this room b/c we are not planning to be in the house for that much longer. Even though I have the room redecorated in my head, I am just going to deal with the 1970's room. Who ever thought that paneling was a good idea...yuck!
So serious! It is nice to have most of his toys in the toy room and not taking over my living room! Blake just got a piece of carpet for it, and it make it look so much nicer! We still have a
shelf to put together for toy storage.
All of this new toys! Clayton loves having his own room to play safely in. :-)

Getting ready for school...

While we were getting ready in the morning I found Clayton brushing his hair. He finally has hair to brush. I thought it was hilarious, he was getting ready to go to school too! He got his brush out himself and everything. How cute!

Happy Bday Kinley!

Happy Bday Kinley! She was so cute with this cell phone. She kept saying hello....quite the little talker.
Clayton and Audrey. It is so hard to get pictures at this age. :-)

Hilarious! All the boys wanted to do was go up the stairs...they had so much fun! Look at their faces...priceless.
Devising a plan of how to drive their mommies nuts! Me and Rhendy were tired chasing after them.

Clayton's first year...

The big 1st birthday. I still can’t believe my baby is 1. It is crazy to think about a year ago today……I was in labor, had my c-section, Clayton was born, was in the hospital for 6 days fighting jaundice…..and finally bringing my baby home to start my family. It makes me cry just thinking about how lift changing the birth of my son has been.

Clayton went to the doctor yesterday and here are his stats.

Weight: 25 lbs 14 oz 90%
Height: 31 inches 89%
Head: 19 inches 90%

I would say he is a proportionate guy! What is he up to these days?

  • He is wearing size 4 diapers, 18 month pants, and 24 or 2T shirts.
  • Still crawling all over, cruising around everything, and standing by himself. He has done the “side shuffle” a couple of times. A couple steps here and there…I don’t think he is in any hurry. He can also crawl up stairs like a champ!
  • Being a good eater is an understatement. Clayton likes everything! He eats what we eat…unless we are eating later then his hungry tummy allows. His favorite thing is blueberries.
  • He still gets a bottle a night. Recently we took away the during the day bottle and have been bottle free in the morning for a week now…..next the night time bottle. I think it is going to be harder for me to give it up then him! It is my snuggle time!!!
  • He still takes two naps a day if he wakes up before 6:15 a.m. If not then one long one after lunch. He is a very good sleeper. He usually only wakes up in the middle of the night if he has an ear infection, which as of yesterday are still gone. WOOHOO!
  • In Clayton’s first year he has been on a plane once to FL, and two long car trips to the Ozarks. What a great little traveler you have become. I see many more trips in your future!
  • He babbles a lot…..he still mostly says dadada and mamama….but we are starting to hear more words. He can say dog (do-gg) and at his birthday party he said good job. He imitates sounds so sometimes it feels like we are having a conversation with him. I love it!
  • Clayton is a social butterfly and has a lot of fun with his buddies at school and on the weekends. He loves going to Wal-Mart to smile at all the women as they walk buy. I think he is quite the ladies man. :-)
  • He finally has a nice head of hair! He got his haircut with scissors for the first time right before his bday party. (I have pics but it hard to update my blog since I have been traveling and our internet is still down…arrggg) We still can’t decide if it is going to be dark or blonde.
  • He is the best little guy parents could ask for….so lovable and good. We love him more then we ever thought possible! I just can’t believe his first year is over and we will have many more years to come. So when do I stop calling him my baby?

I PROMISE……pics will be up soon of his bday party, my trip to NYC, and whatever else I feel like posting! It is hard being a working momma with no internet at home. There just isn’t enough time in day to get all my stuff done. Hopefully I can catch up this weekend.

Happy Bday Little One!

Candice and Joey had us over on Clayton's bday for Monicals pizza. It was a last minute thing so after both grammy's left our house we headed over. I brought cupcakes for us all to celebrate with. Thank guys! It was fun.
Clayton loves his balloons!
Oh yes he does....my sweet little man is offically 1. I still can't believe it.

New York City

Times square. Look at the all the people! I think time square is a perfect mix of Chicago (the city) and Las Vegas (the city that never sleeps with people everywhere). It was pretty awesome. Kevin went with me to NJ to do an inventory for work. NYC was only 30 minutes away from NJ. It was quite the trip to get there....shuttle, bus, train. We couldn't decide if we wanted to go, but finally made the decision and I am glad we went.

If you look closely above the Walgreens W...it is the ball that drops on New Year's Eve. So cool.

I needed a picture so Kevin made me pose with Mickey. After we took the picture I had to give him a $1 for posing with him. People will do anything for money..... We only had enough time to walk from the train station to times square, eat at times square, and walk back. I know there are is a ton more to do....maybe next time. The perks of traveling for work!

Look Hoo's One...

My Clayton Jay!
My Smiles!

Megan and Clayton....how cute?

I am not quite sure what this is....but Clayton loves to do it! LOL.

Buddies...Evan and Clayton.

More buddies...Brenna, Calvin, Evan, and Clayton!

Alisha made Clayton's hat. So cute....he wasn't quite sure about it as you can tell.

First dig of the cake! mmm...Mrs. Jones cake.

Yummy.

Completely devoured the cake....All done!

He loves his balloons!

Our family!
Clayton loving on his cousin Marin.
Me and baby Henry! We are so glad our friends Kelly and Brandon could bring Henry to the party.
Clayton's party was great. He had so much fun with all his family and friends. Thanks everyone for making his party so special!

The party details...

I ran across Clayton's bday shirt on www.etsy.com. If you haven't been there you should go! You can find anything on that site! His shirt sparked the "Look Hoo's One" theme. I wanted to do it because I thought this is really the only year I could actually pick the theme...so I went with it. Alisha and I made paper owls to decorate (I didn't realize how hard it was to find owl themed things). We also made owls to put on the kids goody bags....so cute! Of course Mrs. Jones made the cakes and cookies....yummo! She is the best!! And last but not least my friend Steph made a slideshow of Clayton's first year pics. I had so much fun planning the party!!! I wonder what next year will bring? Mickey Mouse, John Deere.....whatever my little man wants!

Dirty feet...

We were setting up for Clayton's party....and of course I forgot shoes for him. So he walked (with the scooters help) around barefoot. Look at those feet....OH MY! I had to get a pic of them. I am sure they will see much worse.

Clayton loving life. What a smiley boy. I would say he was excited for his party...but I don't think he really knew what we were doing.

Haircut...

Clayton got his first scissor hair cut after I got mine done. Janet buzzed it before when he was a baby. Doesn't he look like his daddy in the picture?
He was sitting with his leg up relaxing the whole time. What a good boy! I hope this continues.

Some recent favorites

Clayton loves to ride on Blake's shoulders like this. I don't know how I didn't catch a smiling pic of him doing it. We were walking around the hay field scoping things out for future projects. I love living on the hay farm. :-)

My smiles.....he loves getting his picture taken. Look at his 8 teeth!!!!

But not after about 200 shots. What a boy! (I love this face)

One of the boys...

When I am busy cooking supper...you can usually find my boys out in the garage keeping themselves busy. Clayton loves hanging out with his daddy, Grandpa, and Uncle Sean.

Clayton's new way to crawl...so cute!

Odie loving on his Clayton. This dog is Clayton's best friend. Casper could care less about him....but not Odie. He is a gentle giant.
