Two years ago...

Two years ago today I lost my daughter...gosh that still feels crazy to write...wait I did loose my Charlotte.  I just feel like so long ago, but it was only two years ago.

Somehow Clayton kept it a secret that I was going to get these beautiful flowers delivered to work.  They were gorgeous.  It was an amazing way to remember her and a way for me to share her with people I work with, since many of them don't know about her.  I had a lot of people stop by to ask about the flowers.  Some when they heard my answer, "Two years ago my daughter passed away."  Were pretty shocked.  Others just said wow, that wasn't very long ago.  Others looked sorry for me...or didn't know what to say.  I just smiled and said she is in a better place now and I will see her again.

Others were probably admiring my ability to be so open and honest with them....and my strength.  Really a lot of them not close friends, just co workers.  You know what...I admire the strength in myself....is that possible?  How far I have come in two years, no more anger, just occasional tears and true gratefulness that I was chosen to be her mother for 5 months.

Rest in peace my angel.  I miss you everyday.

My boys!

This little one is practicing standing at swim lessons.  I finally got Clayton back into swim lessons...the only time open was on sat.  It kinda stinks, but I think it will work the best with me working and Clayton needing something to do on the weekend!  #workingmomproblems

My brother sent me this picture.  Clayton in his happy place...my dad's shop!!!

Bath Fun!

Sawyer waiting for me.  Look at that belly.

nakey boy on the loose...no crawling yet....still rolling!

I am ready Momma.

Enter Clayton....he loves his brother so much.  What a look.

and a smile for his brother.

Yep he is all mine.

Sawyer loves taking baths.  He is just starting to fuss a little when I take him out.  But that usually doesn't last long b/c i let him stand (with my knees supporting him) at the edge of the tub and he watches Clayton play....sometimes resulting in changing jammies b/c they get wet.  ha!

One day to the next...

On Monday we were snowed in!  I love snow days....it is even better then when you are in school.  For one it never happens...and #2 you don't have to make it up!!  Clayton was so bored....he decided the island needed cleaned...and he did a great job!!!  I am going to make him a good husband someday.  ha!

As a working mom...one day I am home with my kids...

and the next I am flying in a private jet.  We went to a meeting in IA at Nationwide's headquarters.  I am not going to lie...I felt very important.  It was the best flight ever.  You get to the hangar and get right on the plane once everyone is there.  No id's, no security checks....amazing.  It was such a smooth flight and landing too.  It only took us about 40 minutes to get to Des Moines.  Even better we had a meeting and went to dinner and were back home by 8 p.m.  The plan is a lot like the plane on Criminal minds to give you a better idea.

I wish I had one of these to take me to the Ozarks....awesome!

9 months!!!

Who is 9 months??? Sawyer Tate....seriously where did the time go?

This little buddy really is the perfect addition to our family.  I feel blessed everyday being with him.

Sawyer is still not interested in crawling.  He can sit up and roll and get wherever he wants!  Dr. Boe thinks he might walk before he crawls...since he is so big!  That big belly really gets in the way.

These two are best buddies.  Sawyer loves watching Clayton.  He can just sit on the floor and be entertained by whatever C is doing.

His stats:
weight:  23 lbs 6 oz 93%
height:  29 1/4" 78%
head:  99%

Sawyer is wearing a size 4 diaper, 12-18 months clothes (just 12 months are too small), eats 4 bottles a day plus 3 meals and snacks (love fruits, cereal, cheerios, puffs, yogurt melts, baby food peas, squash, sweet potatoes), he is starting to want to feed himself.  He loves to stand.  If you stand him up he does really well!  He started waving bye bye.  Saywer is a great sleeper.  He is usually in bed between 7:30-8.  We put him in his crib and he is happy to just chill and fall asleep on his own.  He even plays in there on the weekend so I can sleep him...what a good little buddy!

In 3 months he will be the big ONE???  seriously???  I am in denial.
