Tonight Blake and I took Clayton to the Bass Pro Shop.  He LOVED looking around at all the stuff.  He was on the go constantly...

My boys by the bear...Blake is tall...so the bear is HUGE!!!

Before we ate dinner there at Uncle Buck's (the chicken nachos were amazing!!!) I wanted a picture with Clayton....this is what I get these days...

a complete stinker!

A nice family Friday night out :-).

A Heart...

I stayed up WAY to late last night finishing this project!

I am working on a family photo wall for our living room.  Which consists of spray painting frames and antiquing them, and finding the right mix of pictures etc.  With this heat it is nearly impossible to find time to paint....

I found this picture and pinned it and decided of making it for Charlotte's room.  Before Charlotte I wasn't a heart kinda girl.  But after finding out she had a heart defect it became the symbol for my sweet girl.

So last night I decided to start (and finish) this heart art for our photo wall!

I went to Hobby Lobby to get fabric for the heart art...but then I realized I could just use the fabric from her room!  Before she was born I had bought fabric for her room to make embroidery hoop art....but then I never hung it up.  Probably because she came at 36 weeks and I didn't have it done yet.  Anyway I had extra....so the extra was used for this project.  The red is actually red ruffle fabric that is her crib skirt!  I am super excited to incorporate all these fabrics into an art piece for our living room.  It is just another thing I can look at and smile and remember my sweet girl.

Sprinkler fun...

Tonight I decided to get the sprinkler out for C man....because it was so hot and the grass needs some water!

Blake was watering the garden...so we had no water pressure....

but C man still had alot of fun!

then he was running through the sprinkler...really fast.  Which he ended up tripping....

and falling....

with a face full of grass!  Poor guy!

Part 2...

After we left the fire station we went down to the kiddie tractor pulls.  Last year Clayton wouldn't do it...but this year he gave it his best shot!

He pedaled his little heart out.  I think he did really good...he seemed to go far.

At the end he told me it was really hard to pedal!

Everyone won a "badge" as Clayton calls his medal....and a little tractor.

In the afternoon we went swimming...then home for a nap.

After Clayton's nap which he didn't want to wake up from (I have a good sleeper!)...we went to the fireman's pork chop supper.  It is always amazing!  Blake took us up to the park for the fireworks.

I got Clayton some glow sticks...

and Uncle Sean took him to get his face painted.  He loved his spider face.  We told him not to come back with out his face painted.  Right when Clayton saw us he came running back so excited to show us his face.

We sat with Blake and the guys on his fire truck.  They were all on their toes due to the drought and everything being really dry.  Luckily nothing caught on fire.

I am glad the fireworks were able to go one.  Seriously Stanford had the best firework show I have ever seen...maybe it is because it is right after the 4th and they are cheaper...who knows...but it is awesome!

We got to ride back to our cars in the fire truck.  Clayton was so excited.  When we got the fire station I went to go put our chairs in my car....I couldn't find my keys!  Ahhh.....

Blake drove me up on the Gator to the park where we were sitting....and there they were....in the grass....thank goodness!

We had a great day being busy and having fun!  That is what Saturdays are all about.  :-)

Stanford Good Old Days part 1....

Today is Stanford Good Old Days!  I know how to get this boy to smile...take him to the fire station and let him play in trucks.  I think this is the BEST picture of him I have smiling.  Beautiful...

To start this busy day we decided to visit Blake at the fire station.

Since Blake is the asst. Chief he is heavily involved in this celebration.  The boys put a lot of hours into making this day safe and fun for everyone.

the coat is swallowing him alive.

Next stop tractor pulls!

Happy 30th Bday Matt!

Tonight we celebrated Matt's 30th bday (my brother in law)!  His Mom made the cake....of course.  She is amazing!  Matt has a diesel business and does truck pulling....that is his logo.  Pretty cool huh?

Clayton made instant friends with two other boys.  Matt's dad got our the old metal trucks...the boys were in heaven!

Then Kinslee got there....I think they are in love.

Seriously...

look how cute...

these two are!  (Clayton was being very dramatic while telling her a story)

I think he is smitten.....ha!

Kinslee let me take her pic...

she was even posing!

The birthday boy!  (Matt and my sister Alisha)

 another pose...

the boys on a dirt/rock pile.

Matt had a great turn out with lots of good food and friends.  Not much else you need for a great party!

Happy 30th Bday Matt!

The patio reveal....

Finally the patio reveal!  I have just been to lazy to take pics of it!  All the work courtesy of Blake's Dad's business Grieder Sod and Landscaping.

It has been to hot to use the fire bowl much...but the times we have...it is amazing!  I am ready for some colder weather to sit by the fire with some wine.

Our outdoor kitchen.  Blake is in heaven.

entry from the side towards our driveway.  We still have to do landscaping all the way around and walkway to the patio...but with this heat we don't want to plant anything else!

steps lead into my kitchen.  When we were looking at house plans I knew I wanted to be able to walk directly out of my kitchen onto a patio and not be high off the ground.  Ta Da...dream come true!

All the pink plants are for Charlotte!  I love this tall tropical one.

grill/fridge/bar

I am glad I chose a round patio with a seat wall.  I love how it turned out.
Odie wanted his picture taken too...poor guy is so hot.

Couldn't forget about Casper!  (His eyes look creepy)

And at night! Love all the custom lighting.

I can't wait to have some more patio parties when the heat dies down.

Notice a common theme in my blog posts?  This heat SUCKS...we need rain really really bad.  We are in a drought, which is not good for anyone....especially farming and landscaping.

Off to do a rain dance...
