Christmas in July

Tonight we had the Grieder Christmas in July.  Blake's Grandpa sold his house in the country which used to be the Sod Farm a couple of years ago.  Since the farm has TONS of memories for everyone...the whole family wanted one last gathering before it was no longer the "Grieder Sod Farm."  His two Aunts from California even made it!
Clayton and Marin..

the men cooking...

Clayton had so much fun playing in this WAY to small car.  His second cousins were pushing him around...he was in heaven.

Before dinner..
The conversations these two have is hilarious!
Not sure when this happened...but I guess playing in the dirt was a good idea!

so we ended the night with a filthy boy.  We had a great family night and had lots of fun walking around looking in the barns.

Clayton even ended up getting to bring home some metal trucks/tractors/trailers that are antique.  He is in HEAVEN.  They are awesome...I want to put them on a shelf in his room...but I guess he can play with them too.  ha!

Swimming Fun!

Today is our normal Sat afternoon...
swimming with friends (Rhendy and Lynley)

and being silly.

Clayton loves playing with Logan...look at these two...two peas in a pod.  They look like such little stinks.  ha!

Last Tball game!

Tonight was Clayton's
last t ball game.
I am not sure how much he actually liked playing...my child is a social butterfly and just liked seeing all of his friends.
He did enjoy hitting the ball....
and of course the treats that followed.

Mmmmm... Snow cones!  (Could they be anymore handsome?)

I scream..You scream..Dogs scream for Ice Cream?

Tonight after swim lessons we went to Blake's parents house....

his relatives are here from CA so we had a family dinner...which involved ice cream...

on the deck!!!  You can see why...

Clayton and Marin weren't allowed in with their cones!

Notice how the two littles could care less about looking at the camera....I guess Clayton is showing off.

Once he was done with his cone tricks...he set his cone down....look who went to town!

Maxi!  Man that ice cream sure is good....Good thing it was hot.

Pure drippy goodness!

Adults Only...

This weekend was kind of a last minute...lets go to the lake!  Do we have a babysitter?  My sister and her husband Matt planned it b/c they didn't have any truck pulls this weekend.  Since none of them have kids we decided to leave Clayton Jay at home.  Of course I felt guilty b/c he LOVES the Ozarks...but sometimes Blake and I need grown up time.  So it was an Adults ONLY trip.
We got down Friday afternoon.  Tay and I went to the grocery store and got food for the weekend and Blake got the boat/jet ski ready.  The rest of the crew joined us Friday night.
Saturday we went to our favorite place Bear Bottoms!  They have good food, a water slide, and lots of good drinks....what else do you need?

The boys were on one side of the bar (see pic on top)...and we were on the water side charging drinks to our husbands tabs....gotta love it!  Ha.  I was the designated boat driver...so my one pina colada was good enough for me.  I guess even though my child wasn't with me...I was still the Mom of the group.

We had a great time with great friends!  These trips are so fun for me...I get to do whatever I want whenever I want and hang out with my hot husband...but I do miss my Clayton Jay.  He was having a blast with his Grammie!

I was talking about....

Somehow I got Clayton hooked on wearing his aviators...like his Daddy.  Pretty much whatever Blake does Clayton will do it too...

This was before school today.  Of course he has to show me...I am a big stink...for these pics.

When I picked him up from school today...he immediately said...

"Mommy I was talking about Charlotte today."  Out of the blue...

He told me he was telling his new teacher Kelsey all about his baby sister up in heaven.  I wonder what he actually told her....I would have loved to be a bug on a wall to hear that.

I have also had some of his friends ask me if Clayton's baby sister was up in the clouds.  This little girl was asking me why she was up in the clouds.  My response "Hunny...I am not really sure why.  God decided she should be up in heaven."

His connection to Charlotte is truly amazing...considering he only got to see her a couple times.  He obviously misses her...and so do I!

Happy Father's Day!

Today was of course a busy busy day.  We spent the afternoon with the Grieder's and tonight with my family.  I had a goal of getting a picture of Blake and Clayton for my photo wall I have been working on.  Look at this perfect spot...right behind out house.  I was imagining them right by these....did I get a picture...of course not!
Clayton had NO nap and was acting crazy....like 100 mph trying to keep himself awake.
I now know WHY he needs a nap.  A good reminder of how important a nap is to my little man.  With his schedule...he needs one.  I love the sky in these pictures...he wasn't scared at all to be on top of the hay bales.

I am so lucky to have Blake as my partner in crime in raising Clayton.  He has been my best friend for almost 13 years.  He is my rock my everything.  I am so so lucky to have a man in my life that treats me right, listens to me, answers my phone calls "Hello beautiful" when he knows I need to hear it....pretty much does whatever I need (most of the time).

Happy Father's Day Blake!

Super hard work...

Moving Aunt Taylor was super hard work...and so is picking your nose.

and having a major attitude problem...not wanting to take a picture with Taylor in front of her new house.

At least this little attitude is all mine!
