One Month...

Sawyer you are One Month!  Boy time flies...

wearing 3 month clothes...size 1 diapers

You are still waking up twice a night to nurse.  We all go to bed around 9 p.m.  You usually are wanting me around midnight, 3 a.m., and 6 a.m.  I would say you are eating every 3 hours!  What an eater you are!

You are still a little jaundice, but I think it is going away.  So far you are a sweet baby boy that really only fusses when you are hungry!  You remind me a lot of your big brother Clayton as a baby.  You love sitting up and looking around.  I think you will be so happy once you can jump in your jumperoo!

Clayton and Sawyer

There is something so sweet about watching these two together.  Clayton just adores him...and I can already tell the feeling is mutual from Sawyer.

Clayton can calm him down and keep him entertained for me.  The only problem we are having is Clayton wanting to be in Sawyer's face every second.

a family snuggle before dinner....Clayton's request

I am looking forward to this week because we have decided to only send Clayton to school (daycare) for only two days instead of four.  Initially we were going to keep his routine the same while I am on maternity leave, but we were both having second thoughts.  I miss Clayton while he is gone and he is such a BIG help with Sawyer and Clayton doesn't want to go to school and wants to stay with me.  So I think this will be best for us!  I have noticed when I have both boys I seem to be more productive during the day too!

Well hello bright eyes!

I can't believe this little guy is almost a month old!  Time has flown.  (look at those eyes and lips....just melts me!)

He continues to be a good baby..but boy is he an eater!  He is starting to fill out more I think.

Just talking to Aunt Alisha...I could just eat him up!  Life is good.

Got my....?

Look Mom....I got my...

thumb!  This is the second time he has managed to get his thumb in his mouth...and he just goes to town on it!

Week 2 in cell phone pics!

Sawyer has become REALLY active this week.  Here are some cell phone pics...

Look at those baby arms go.  He seems to enjoy his play mat.

He has been the most awake in the mornings, which leads me to get nothing done because I just talk and stare at him in the mornings...he is just so darn cute.  You can see his baby tan and his eyes are a little yellow still.

He is more and more into his passie.  Clayton pretended to like it for a week....so we will see how long this lasts.

He is offically in 3 month clothes.  (Look how big his hands are).  He wore newborn for about a week...ha!  I keep forgetting to post this...but he never even worse newborn diapers.  Straight to size 1!!

You can kinda see his eyes are a dark blue in this picture.  He is still such a good baby and sleeping pretty well.

My boys before bed.  Nothing cuter then snuggling with Daddy.

This family of 4 thing is working out quite well.  We are loving life and feeling blessed every single day!

Two week Appt.

Well back to the doctor we went again today.

Sawyer's stats:

length 21"
weight 9 lbs 14 oz
head circ.  15"4'

They didn't give me the percentages but they are consistent with his last check so I am guessing all in the 95-98%.  I can't believe how big my boys are!

Sawyer's belly button is still kinda oozy, but Dr. Boe says it looks fine and just to clean it with alcohol twice a day.  It doesn't seem to hurt him at all when you do it, but it does look gross.

Back to the breastfeeding jaundice.  Dr. Boe isn't concerned.  He didn't even check his levels.  According to him Sawyer is alert and eating/pooping/peeing like he should.  He would be concerned if he wasn't doing the normal baby things.  He did recommend giving him a little formula after each feeding if he seems hungry.  I don't think this will happen often since he goes in a milk coma after he eats.  He was more concerned with Sawyer only gaining a half ounce a day rather then an ounce.  So I feel relieved that he is fine.  Clayton wasn't back up to his birth weight at 2 weeks either.  I think these big boys just take their time.

We hunted down some vitamin D drops, then ran to Walmart.  Sawyer loves the car and car seat!

We ended the day watching the last episode of Downton Abbey.  A snuggle session and a good movie were the perfect way to end the day!  (Have you watched Downton Abbey??  seriously I am obsessed   At first I wasn't that sure....but it gets pretty good!)

Look alike?

So at initial glance they look like twins.  Wait....they practically are twins...

The only difference I notice is that Sawyer has the same hair as Charlotte.  You can tell by the picture....a lot thinner and even.  Clayton had more hair at birth that eventually became patchy.  So this is a good thing.  I think Sawyer's hair might be the lightest of all!  Maybe he will be my true blonde.  After looking at pics of Charlotte she looks a lot like her brothers too!

Same nose and eyes...maybe even same lips (Charlotte as a brand new baby-still in Peoria).  I think she had more of Blake's shaped lips though.  Amazing how they all resemble each other!

All my beautiful Grieder babies....what blessings!

Supermom?

Well I officially felt like Supermom today...nothing huge happened...I just feel like I got this two baby thing under control.

I took both boys with me to Farm and Fleet yesterday (by myself) to get stuff for our garden!  I know a big feat....ha ha.

Last night I noticed Sawyer's umbilical cord was smelling funny (kinda fishy smelling)....then it fell off.   I don't remember that with Clayton.  He then slept HORRIBLE....so in the morning I consulted the new born book and it said to call the doctor if there was an odor.  So I call the dr....and 30 minutes later we (Clayton, Sawyer, and I) were out the door.  Wahoo!  I got three of us ready in no time and made it to the doctor.  Another victory for me with no issues.

His umbilical cord is not infected.  They cleaned it out and we have to go back on Monday for our 2 week check.  The doctor was concerned because he is still jaundice.  She thinks he has breast milk jaundice....of course!  So on Monday they are going to test his levels to see.  Also she recommended giving him some formula and for me to pump.  Blake and I are going to try some formula tonight...not that I want to, but sounds like we need to.  Tear!  At least it will give Blake some more bonding time with our baby.

Lipstick?

I got my April Birch box today.  I got this orangey-red lip pencil in it.  I of course wanted to try it on.  Blake and Clayton were making fun of me because I had no makeup on but this bright lipstick.

Clayton disappeared for a couple seconds and came running into the kitchen looking like this.  We laughed...I let him eat dinner like this.  This the first time he has ever messed with my makeup...and he knows it is off limits.  I hope this doesn't happen again...but I have to say....he did it to make us laugh...and laugh we did!

Sawyer week 1 in cell phone pics...

I could stare at him...

all day...

he is just so huge! His big brother adores him.  He wants to hold him a lot.

Passed out from a  milk coma at the hospital.

brand new baby boy!

It is such a blessing to be able to hold Sawyer whenever I want!  And to breastfeed.  It is just crazy how much I took for granted with Clayton that I never got to do with Charlotte.  So now with Sawyer I am soaking it all in.

Breastfeeding is going great!  I am a little sore...but I haven't had to give my chunky monkey any formula yet!    wahoo!  He is a little jaundice so we thought we might have to...but he has been eating, pooping, and peeing like a rock star!

I am afraid to write this....but Sawyer has been an AMAZING sleeper.  We have had two bad nights...and the rest great.  He wakes up around (or I wake him up) midnight and 4 am....then around 8 am.  I am in pain so I have been waking him up to eat.  I never thought I would be one to do that...but I am awake...so why not!  It is so fun to try to figure out his personality and what he likes etc.  I do know that he loves to be swaddled and to eat!  Also...he really loves me and his silly Daddy...and of course for Clayton to play with him.

We are adjusting great to being at home...I am really looking forward to being at home on maternity leave.  So far it has been a dream come true.  :-)  Can you tell I am just high on baby love right now?  HA!

First Play Date!

Sawyer got to meet his girlfriend Alice today.  They are about 6 weeks apart and almost the same size!  Hard to tell b/c Sawyer is a little froggy and still likes to be curled up.

Kelly, Taylor, and Kaitlin came to hang out tonight.   It was a nice girls afternoon   Sawyer usually doesn't fuss...I can't remember what his problem was...maybe he didn't like the pink blanket..ha!

He really isn't much of a passie baby...but sometimes he just needs a couple sucks to calm himself down....

Pretty Alice.  She looks just like her big sister Izzy.  I kept calling her the wrong name!!!  It was nice to just play with the babies without yelling at the older kids...ha!  I think our next play date might have to be shopping or something!
